Due Wednesday, 3/18
Objective: Students will show their ability to design a presentation using Google Slides. The entire presentation should describe YOU (what you like, your family, stuff you've created in this class, etc) The presentation should be between 2 and 3 minutes in length, and the student will present it to the class next week.
  1. First, we will discuss the notes on Principles of Design.
  2. Then, watch the following videos and create your own Google Presentation in the same way. Refer to the Rubric below as you create your Presentation.
  • Lesson 1 (hyperlinks);
  • Lesson 2 (designing slides);
  • Lesson 3 (animation);
  • Lesson 4 (maps & images);
  • Lesson 5 (finishing touches);
  • Lesson 6 (presenting your slideshow)

Rubric:
-title page & table of contents (10 points) - Title page must include title, your name, date. TOC needs hyperlinks to each slide that follows, with a hyperlink back to the TOC on every slide.
-overall design (10 points) - The entire presentation should flow nicely and follow the good design principles of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity. Also, you must include certain elements that are outlined in the Lesson videos.
-transitions, animations (10 points) - Must include transitions from one slide to the next, and at least 4 different animations
-various slide layouts & speaker notes (10 points) - Different types of slides should have different "layouts", and similar slides should have the same layout. Also include speaker notes on each slide to help you when you present to the class.
-presentation (10 points) - Entire presentation must be between 2 and 3 minutes; you may read directly from your speaker notes if you want. Also include your best drawing for our class drawing contest!

Due Tuesday, March 10
  1. Using the "Template" feature in Word ("File" - "New"), explore all of the recommended uses of Word.
  2. Choose 5 different templates and make them each of them "your own" by changing the text/colors/pictures where needed, add detail, etc. Example: use a Card template to make a birthday card for your friend. Need help? View tutorials
  3. Save these in Word on your H: drive into a new folder called "Schmoe Word Templates".
  4. Make a PDF copy of each of these documents, and put them in the same folder.
  5. Then upload this folder to Google Drive, and turn it in through your "5SchmoeJoe" folder (not Google Classroom)
