Friday - Today we analyzed our polls and ratted out the people who didn't take our poll.

Wednesday & Thursday -
Today we will take the polls that were created this week.

Tuesday -
Students finished their Poll (watch video) and submitted the links here. Tomorrow we will take the Polls from other students.
 
Monday - Today students created their own poll (using a google form).  Go to Google Drive and create a form. You will "share it" with the class tomorrow.
Rubric:
  • Name it "My First Poll (your name)"
  • Your form needs to be limited to District 204 only
  • Your first question must ask for the first and last name
  • You must have at least 5 questions
  • You need at least one "scale" question
  • You need at least one "choose from a list" question
  • You need at least one "multiple choice" question
  • The information you gather must be related to your theme
Possible Themes for your Poll:
  • Opinions about "x"
  • How much you like "x"
  • When you think "x" will happen
  • Your favorite "x" (limited list)
  • Do you believe in "x"

"x" = sports teams, songs, movies, teachers, family size, food, zombies, Barack Obama, Santa Claus, holidays etc

Friday - Friday fun day! Make sure you have all work turned in, and then work on your GameStarMechanic.com game. When you have published it, "Submit" it using the form to the right. Then play other people's games from your class (search in the "Game Alley"), and rate them after you play them.

Thursday - Today we typed for 20 minutes and played our custom games.

Wednesday - Today we started with typing practice, and then voted on the SuperHero projects (view: p8, p9). 

Monday & Tuesday
 - Today you are working in groups of 4 on a group project. The best group project (voted on by the class) will get extra credit:
  1. NO TALKING. Each time you talk, you lose a point.
  2. Find out who's in your group by using this spreadsheet (Per 8, per 9). The captain of your group is the one who's email is bold.
  3. The captain of the group needs to create a new Drawing in Google and share it with the other 3 people in the group (with "edit" privileges). Name the file "Superheroes"
  4. The paper needs to be divided into 4 equal parts using the LINE tool
  5. Each of the four people now creates their own "superhero" in one area of the paper. Include the name of your superhero using WordArt and put your own name in parentheses using a textbox. Also include a description of your superhero's special powers (using text box).
  6. When you are all finished, the captain needs to Share it with [email protected].
  7. If you finish early, you may "play" in NitroType or GameStarMechanic

Thursday/Friday - As a class and WITHOUT TALKING you need to collaborate to create a different Google drawing for each month that includes the Self Portraits of students born in that month. view sample
  1. Fill out this FORM to communicate as a class. 
  2. Use the spreadsheet to organize your names, email addresses, birthdates etc. 
  3. Determine who will be in what group (by birthdays), and MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS INCLUDED. Also decide who is going to create & share the new Drawing.
  4. Create and collaborate on your drawing, making sure to name it properly and label the drawings properly. 
  5. Share the final version with [email protected]. 


Tuesday - Today students learned how to modify a document in Google Docs (similar to Word). In your Google Drive "Computers 2" folder, make a copy of this document and modify it to look exactly (except for your name) like this final version.

Thursday - Students will create and share a Google document today - watch video.
Wednesday - Students login to their Google accounts and explore the features available to them; maps, email, pictures/videos, searches, Google drive, YouTube (/education only), etc
Monday & Tuesday - More internet safety (Beware Online Predators) typing practice and game design.
