Due Friday, December 13th Students will create a website using the skills that they have learned in this class and in Computers 1. Students can create this website using either Google Sites or Weebly (must have parental permission). The theme of your website will be "My Computers II Portfolio", and it will feature all of the things you've learned in this class. Rubric (10 pts each, total of 100 pts) Monday - Today is a typing day. Students competed on Nitrotype, and reported their best score to Mr. Dwyer at the end of the day. The New Grading Scale is posted in the right-hand sidebar.
This 2-day week, students posted links to their videos and watched each other's videos. If you finish early you can continue working on more videos, games, or other content for your website. Next week we will put everything together and build an "All About Me" website.
Friday - First we took the Keyboarding Assessment in Microtype (enter results here). Then continue working on your videos, games and websites.
Thursday - Finish your sappy video, and then make another video (your choice). Please don't download any music from the internet. Wednesday - Today we created a sappy video at animoto.com. See example below. Monday & Tuesday - Today we learned how to add a Google Poll (or other document) to our website Wednesday-Friday - Students work on building their own website in Google. Tuesday - Today students played the "featured games" (mouse over "Computer's 2") and rated them. Then they worked on their own games or played games made by other people. If you see a game you really like, suggest it to Mr. Dwyer for another featured game. Check out www.aidandwyer.weebly.com Tuesday-Thursday - We created and played our video games Monday - Today we analyzed our polls and ratted out the people who didn't take our poll. When finished, students continued to work on creating/publishing/testing their video game. Tuesday - Students finished their Poll (watch video) and submitted the links here. Tomorrow we will take the Polls from other students. Monday - Today students created their own poll (using a google form). Go to Google Drive and create a form. You will "share it" with the class tomorrow.
Friday - Friday fun day! Make sure you have all work turned in, and then work on your GameStarMechanic.com game. When you have published it, "Submit" it using the form to the right. Then play other people's games from your class (search in the "Game Alley"), and rate them after you play them.
Thursday - Today we typed for 20 minutes and played our custom games. Wednesday - Today we started with typing practice, and then voted on the SuperHero projects (view: p8, p9). Monday & Tuesday - Today you are working in groups of 4 on a group project. The best group project (voted on by the class) will get extra credit:
Thursday/Friday - As a class and WITHOUT TALKING you need to collaborate to create a different Google drawing for each month that includes the Self Portraits of students born in that month. view sample
Tuesday - Today students learned how to modify a document in Google Docs (similar to Word). In your Google Drive "Computers 2" folder, make a copy of this document and modify it to look exactly (except for your name) like this final version. |
